Biography

Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory studying under Yakov Zak and Lev Naumov. In 1983 he moved to the USA, and in 1991 he became a professor at the University of Indiana (South Bend) where he developed a special system of instruction. In Russia he regularly performs with the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev; he has recorded for Phillips all five of Prokofiev's piano concertos and Scriabin's Prometheus with them.
