First stage:

The recital must be at least 50 minutes long, but not more than 60 minutes. The programme must include one or more compositions by a Russian composer. Works already performed in Round I may not be repeated.

  • A sonata by one of the following composers: L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert or J. Brahms,
  • One virtuoso work,
  • One or more compositions chosen by the contestant (it is permissible to play one or two movements from a single sonata).
