Biography


 

Alexei Bogorad graduated from the Moscow Conservatory studying both clarinet and composition. He has won prizes in international competitions for conductors in Kiev and Zagreb. He has collaborated with Vladimir Jurowski in the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra, and since 2012 he has worked at the Bolshoi Theatre. As both conductor and director he has prepared a production of The Nutcracker (2011, Japan) and L’Histoire du soldat (2013, studio-theatre of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts), Moi do Dir, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, Marco Spada (2012, 2013, Bolshoi Theatre), and Le Corsaire (2014, Teatro di San Carlo, Naples).

 

He frequently performs with Russia’s leading symphony orchestras.
