Studied at the Lübeck University of Music under Prof. Zakhar Bron. She was a famous child prodigy who performed with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra since the age of 5. At 9 she recorded Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and a solo programme for the Teldek label. When she was 11, she suffered a serious injury to her hand and was unable to play the violin for several years. Subsequently she studied at the Korean National University of Arts under Prof. Nam-Yun Kim and was a prize winner in several international violin competitions: in Seoul (2009, first prize), in Hannover (2009, second prize), and in Sendai (2010, first prize). In 2010 she won the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and also took five special prizes. She performs all over the world and plays with the most accomplished orchestras. In 2011 her solo album of violin pieces Modern Solo was released by Decca. She plays the violin 'Ex-Strauss', made by Antonio Stradivarius in 1708, generously on loan from Samsung Cultural Foundation of Korea since 2015.

If you were 80 years old, what advice would you give to young people today?
To never give up a person you love! Thats the only thing you will remember or regret in the end.
What would you like people to say about you?
Eh... I simply can not decide which is better? To be talked about or not be talked about at all haha! After a concert, I wish for people to have at least forgotten some of their daily worries through my music…
How do you overcome the stage fright? / What is your ritual before going on stage?
Definitely trying hard to fix the musical imperfections and if that doesn't seem to work, I just put down the violin and start praying for a musical miracle to happen.
When you perform... who are you playing for?
I play for me, God, my audiences and for the people I wish to heal through music!
What job would you least like to do?
Hmm... Let's put it this way: anything other than doing music or violin I would not do, as the music profession I can try to master my whole life. Anything else, I would never get hired!
Is there a joke about musicians that you would like to share with us?
I am the last person you should want to ask!
What's the "most played" non-classical track on your phone?
Adele (for comfort), Amy Winehouse (for whatever else), Eminem (when I am really furious).

Water, water and water!
What is your favorite noise/sound? What is the most annoying noise for you?
My favorite sound is the violin (ha how boring & obvious) The most annoying noise can be my own violin sound (when I don't feel like practicing).
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Somewhere where paying taxes does not exist?
