Mikhail Kazakov

Biography

Bass, soloist for the Bolshoi Theatre and the Dzhalil Tatarstan Opera and Ballet Theatre. Graduated from the Kazan Conservatory. While still a student he débuted at the Tatarstan Opera and Ballet Theatre and at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Since 2001 he has been a soloist with the opera troupe of the Bolshoi Theatre. Winner of a number of international competitions including the Glinka Competition, the International Maria Callas Grand Prix, and the International Tchaikovsky Competition. He is often on tour singing at the most prominent operatic stages and festivals of the world. He is an Honoured Artist of Russia and a People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan.
