From this morning pianists selected for the First round of the Tchaikovsky Competition are given the time to choose among four concert pianos for their performance.

There are Steinway, Yamaha, Fazioli and Kawai on the stage of the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory. The choice is always very challenging. “Take a piano as you take fate”- told the great Sviatoslav Richter who always considered choosing a piano for a concert very demoralizing. But the participants have to decide…

By the end of Saturday, the Steinway is leading: 10 of 15 participants decided to trust this particular piano.
