Born in Irkutsk. He studied at the Hannover University for Music, Drama and Media under Vladimir Krainev (2000-2009) and at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris under Prof. Marian Rybicki. He has studied conducting and is currently taking courses in composition. In 2005 he won the 1st Hong Kong International Piano Competition. In 2011 he took third prize in the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv (Israel). In 2012 he won the 8th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (Japan). He has participated in such festivals as La Roque d' Anthéron in France, the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój (Poland), and the Joy of Music Festival in Hong Kong. He has performed with the Russian National Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. His recordings have been released on the JVC, Naxos, and Dux labels among others.

My wife.
What is your favorite meal?
I have my own favorite dish in each country. In Russia this would be dumplings and pancakes - called "blinis."
Do you have a favorite motto or proverb that you live your life by?
Not a day without happiness.
Which person or people inspire you the most?
Life.
If you were 80 years old, what advice would you give to young people today?
Study music, although not necessarily like a professional!
What would you like people to say about you?
Let them say what they think.
How do you overcome the stage fright? / What is your ritual before going on stage?
I try to sleep before. Sometimes I eat a banana.
When you perform... who are you playing for?
For the people.
What job would you least like to do?
I would not like to be a politician.
Is there a joke about musicians that you would like to share with us?
I like this joke in english: "A C, an E-flat, and a G go into a bar. The bartender says: 'Sorry, but we don't serve minors.'"
What's the "most played" non-classical track on your phone?
The Girl from Ipanema.
You are on a desert island and can bring only 3 items, what do you bring?
Music notebook, pencil and violin (with the bow).
What is your favorite noise/sound? What is the most annoying noise for you?
I love the Human voice but hate the sound of iron on glass.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
In a big and beautiful city.
What is the first thing you think about when you hear the word Tchaikovsky?
Love.

Bringing excellence to the absurd.
